Maria Josefina (Josephine) Quintanilla-Dieck, MD

Maria Josefina (Josephine) Quintanilla-Dieck, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon who specializes in the treatment of skin cancer. She is an ACGME Fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, who received her training at the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology, where she completed both Dermatology residency and fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery and the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery. She provides dermatologic care, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers.

Dr. Quintanilla-Dieck completed medical school, with high honors, at the School of Medicine of the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Monterrey, Mexico. Following graduation, she completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Boston University School of Medicine in Massachusetts, where she performed medical research and authored and published several papers in the field of melanoma invasion. Dr. Quintanilla-Dieck subsequently completed her internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Elmhurst Hospital in New York, followed by residency in Dermatology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She then joined the dermatology faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, before moving to Austin, Texas where she practiced general dermatology at Austin Regional Clinic. After 6 years practicing general dermatology, Dr. Quintanilla-Dieck returned to the University of Michigan to complete a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. She remained on faculty for 3 years as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Michigan specializing in Mohs surgery and complex facial reconstruction and the treatment of melanoma and other complex cutaneous malignancies.

Dr. Quintanilla-Dieck has recently moved to Naperville with her husband and 2 young boys. She speaks fluent Spanish.
